The Broadway Bomb is sort of a phenomenon that could only happen here in NYC. It’s basically an outlaw race 8 miles down Broadway through rush hour traffic. It started out with 11 racers in 2001, and by 2003 there were 33 racers. In 2009, there were well into 300 heads. To find out more information, you have to ask the right people, just like finding a speak-easy during prohibition. Like most good things in NYC, you just have to know a guy who knows some guys. As far as the authorities are concerned, it never happened. If you have ever seen fight club, apply rule number one and rule number two to The Broadway Bomb. Earthwing does not organize it, or publicly endorse it, but Earthwing, Kaspar, and the Supercharger own the bragging rights to the most wins since it started. It was the inspiration for the design behind the Superglider, and Supercharger decks, and it has never been won by someone that resides somewhere other than NYC. So if you think you have the grapes, start training, and keep your ear to the ground.
